  • Savasana Heart Chakra Meditation

    While in Savasana, we visualize our body as an energetic being more than a physical being. As we switch our awareness from the physical to the energetic, we visualize our bodies as made up of light: white, golden, or any light, bright color. We visualize our first and second chakras, which for prenatal mamas, is our baby's home. For post natal mamas, this first and second chakra area is the area that worked so hard. We honor this area with gratitude and love. As we visualize this expansion in the first and second chakra centers, we visualize something that we want to manifest in our lives. This could be a physical goal, a non-physical goal, or an emotional, non-measurable goal. We attach a color to this goal: any color within the spectrum of the rainbow. We visualize this color as outside the body, floating a few feet away from us. As we magnetize this goal into our lives, we feel this color be drawn closer and closer to us. In this way, we draw in what we want in our lives, we envelop it, and we make it a p

  • Lower Chakra Opening Meditation

    This meditation was recorded live in my City Yoga class. We begin in a seated position, getting in touch with our breath, lengthening our spine as we feel the tailbone root down and the crown of the head lift up. We explore the nature of our breath, expanding our breath out to the sides of the ribcage and feeling the fullness of our inhale, and feeling the complete feeling of emptiness of our exhale. We place one hand over our heart, and one hand over our belly (or for post natal mamas, second hand on our baby.) We visualize our heart chakra as the petals of a flower, opening up petal by petal. As we use the energy of our heart chakra and visualize the light of the sun, we use the energy of the heart to connect with and stabilize the root, or the base chakra. www.ariamayland.com

    This meditation was recorded live at my City Yoga class. The class began with moms sitting in a squat position on a block, knees out to the sides, feet flat on the floor. Elbows are bent, and gently pressing the inner knees and inner thighs open, hands are together at the heart center.     This meditation was recorded live at my City Yoga class. In this meditation, we focus on energy rising up from the sacrum towards the crown of the head, and then back down. We use our heightened intuition to choose a color from the chakra system (rainbow colors) that resonates with us and infuse the healing energy color into our breath, our meditation and more specifically into the area where our baby is. www.ariamayland.com
